MEDAPHOR EVE

One of the most exciting developments for the Lifecast Body Simulation team has been the development of Point of Care Ultrasound Simulation - (POCUS)

In September 2017 we were approached by Medaphor to build a new type of ultrasound manikin - Bodyworks Eve.

Incredibly, working jointly with the amazing brains at Medaphor we were able to launch the POCUS manikin at IMSH 2018 in Los Angeles

MedaPhor Group plc (AIM: MED), an intelligent ultrasound software and simulation company, launched its new BodyWorks Eve simulator platform, a realistic manikin-based simulator to train medical professionals practicing Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) across emergency medicine and critical care.

BodyWorks Eve is believed to be the first hi-fidelity female manikin-based ultrasound simulator for emergency PoCUS training, according to MedaPhor. It combines the normal and pathological hearts from MedaPhor’s HeartWorks simulator with the complete upper-chest-to-pelvis, real patient scans from MedaPhor’s ScanTrainer platform to teach the requirements of the growing PoCUS skills market, as outlined by the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM). With more than 100 real patient ultrasound cases and 10,000 patient-scenario combinations, BodyWorks Eve replicates learning in a real-life emergency or critical care setting, letting the educator control and change the severity and pathology of the patient in real-time.

MedaPhor partnered with Lifecast Body Simulation, which developed a range of accurate and lifelike ‘bodies’ for medical training, to increase the realism of the BodyWorks Eve simulator. Lifecast supplies the manikin that combines with MedaPhor’s intelligent ultrasound simulation technology.
